Amidst a range of new car and automotive technology launches, also on display at the Auto Expo 2016 is what is touted as the country’s first AUV. Japanese car maker Isuzu today announced India’s first Adventure Utility Vehicle (AUV)- the D-Max V-Cross.
To be manufactured at the company’s new plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, the D-Max V-Cross is said to be the first thorough-bred AUV in India.
The AUV features a 4X4 configuration and is powered by a 134hp, BSIV compliant, high pressure Common Rail Fuel Injection Diesel Engine mated to 5-speed manual transmission delivering a maximum torque level of 320 Nm @1800-2800 rpm. In terms of interiors, the AUV sports steering mounted audio controls, electro-luminescent meters with multi information display and a 7-inch touch-screen audio system.
Expected to be launched in the second half of 2016, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is likely to be priced around 15 lakhs for private consumers (ex-showroom Chennai).
