India: Skoda Auto to Boost Business in India, Aims to Offer More Latest Cars in 2025

The European car manufacturer Skoda has been spreading roots in India, and gearing up to give a big boost to the business. The company aims to sell 100,000 plus units yearly in the country by 2026. To offer a wide range of options to choose from in the SUV segment, it will bring some latest cars by the first half of next year.

It has been reported by the Business Standard that the company is preparing itself to capture 5 percent of shares in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The deadline has been set for 2030.

Here’s What Top Official Says

Talking about the business plans, Skoda’s director Petr Janeba said that the company has a plan to introduce four new EVs in the coming year. To contribute to the EV culture in India, Skoda has multiple alternatives on the table, He added.

As per the details shared by Bussiness Standard, quoting Janeba, where he said, ‘Of the six EVs (announced globally), we definitely want to bring four to India. Of this, the biggest one will be a seven-seater EV from Europe, and the smallest one is a completely-knocked-down (CKD) unit manufactured in Chakan, Pune, and two other cars would be parts and components cars.’

Skoda Enyaq Update

Janeba also shared plans for the most popular EV in the international market the Enyaq. He said the battery-powered vehicle is too big to be localized in the country. However, the company has tried to test it, and hoping for a positive response from the customers.

Once launched, the compact SUV will positioned against the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, and Kia Sonet under a decent price range.
