The Tucson nameplate has been previously a part of the Korean automaker's lineup and it is the third generation of that car that's launched in India starting at Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. There are two engine options and in three variants – 2WD MT, 2WD AT GL and 2WD AT GLS. The two engine options are a 2-litre petrol and 2-litre diesel. Both engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The petrol engine produces 153bhp and 192Nm of torque and the diesel produces 182bhp and 400Nm of torque. Hyundai claims a fuel efficiency of 13.03km/l for petrol manual and 12.95km/l for petrol automatic. The diesel Tucson, is rated by the company at 18.42km/l for the manual and 16.83km/l for the automatic variant.
The biggest attraction for the Tucson is the bold stance that it has, thanks to the Fluidic 2.0 design language, which also made it's way into the recently launched Elantra. The sharp styling is carried all the way to the back, giving the car an aggressive stance.
In terms of interiors, the SUV will come fitted with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity that's complimented by the dual-tone upholstery.
