The tennis, boxing and chess champions square off against themselves in Porsche's commercial for the new 911.
The ad, which is set to roll out over TV, online and in theaters in the US and Europe in the run-up to Christmas, will preview at the "Maria Sharapova & Friends" event at the UCLA Tennis Center in Los Angeles on December 12 and 13.
Entitled "Compete," the commercial plays off the "you against yourself" metaphor, with Porsche explaining in a press release that "only the best have a chance against the best. Only a Porsche 911 can beat a Porsche 911."
The Porsche-supported "Maria Sharapova & Friends" event will feature professional tennis, comedy and entertainment, with players and celebrities such as Karlie Kloss, Chelsea Handler, Andy Roddick, Michael Chang, Kei Nishikori and Jack Sock attending.
