The Kannada film industry joined the statewide protests on Friday, September 29, showing their support to the protestors on the Cauvery water issue. The farmer groups and pro-Kannada organisations held a 12-hour bandh across the state. While many actors of the Kannada film industry joined the protesters, one leading actor was missing. It was actor Jaggesh.
As per the earlier reports, the KFCC (Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce) sent a letter to the industry members, including the actors and the technicians, to be a part of the protest.
Actor Shiva Rajkumar was also present at the protest. He talked about the film industry’s support and that everyone could not make it to the site due to health reasons. He mentioned why actor Jaggesh was not present at the protest. Other personalities from the Kannada film industry like Darshan, Dhruva Sarja, Sunder Raj couple, Padma Vasanthi, Srinath, Shruti, Srujan Lokesh, and Tarun were present at the protest in Bengaluru.
According to the reports, Jaggesh’s absence caused a debate as to why he was not present at the protest site. In a tweet, Jaggesh clarified the rumours regarding his absence at the protest.
He tweeted in Kannada, “L4L5 compression made it difficult to walk and couldn’t get involved in any task! Doctor suggested that 2 weeks of physio treatment and bed rest should be mandatory. Thank you for your information.”
Pictures of the actor getting an MRI scan were shared along with the tweet.

In an earlier tweet, Jaggesh showed his support towards the farmers. He tweeted that he went to meet the Chief Minister of the state on the farmers’ issue and said that he would always support the people of Karnataka in the matter of the water dispute.

Reports state that Jaggesh was also absent from the release event of his new film Totapuri 2, which caused concern among his fans. Reacting to Jaggesh’s recent tweet, the fans have extended their prayers for his speedy recovery.
