After 26 Years Of Release, This Film Is Salman Khan And His Siblings' Only Hit

Both Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan have been unable to match the massive success of their elder brother, Salman Khan, in terms of stardom. Although both have been part of some successful films, none of them have had a single solo hit in their careers. However, a film back in 1998, made by the trio, performed huge at the box office and was among the top grossers of the year. The film was Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, starring Salman and Arbaaz, along with Kajol. Sohail Khan helmed the film in his debut directorial venture.

The movie, released on March 27, 1998, recently completed 26 years. Kajol shared a few throwback pictures from the film’s sets to commemorate its release anniversary. She shared three photos with each of the three male leads of the film, Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Dharmendra. Salman Khan played her romantic interest, while Arbaaz and Dharmendra played her brother and uncle, respectively.

The plot of the movie revolves around an overprotective brother’s love for his sister, who cannot stand any man coming into his sister’s life. Things go for a toss when her sister and her college mate fall in love with each other and her suitor must then try to impress his ladylove’s brother at any cost to gain her hand in marriage. There is also a subplot related to a villain, played by Nirmal Pandey.

The movie also had the song O Oh Jaane Jaana sung by Kamal Khan and featuring a bare-chested Salman Khan, which was to become a trend in upcoming films. The song became extremely famous and is still considered a youth anthem to date. The film grossed over Rs 33 crore on a Rs 7.75 crore budget and was a big success commercially.
