Ever since the announcement of Don 3 with Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani, fans have been extremely elated that Farhan is finally is finally reclaiming the director’s chair with the highly anticipated film. While the makers were keen on begin filming from August, buzz is that the film will be delayed for quite some time now, as Farhan is prioritising his acting project. Reportedly, the third installment of the Don franchise will now go on floors around December.
According to a report in Peepingmoon.com, Farhan will now be focusing on his acting role. He will be starring in an action entertainer that will be helmed by Dhaakad director Razneesh Razy Ghai. The film will reportedly go on floors in June. While the film’s details haven’t been revealed much, it is being said that the project is immensely special for Farhan as it immediately caught his attention inspiring him to end a three-year break from acting after Toofaan.
The report also stated that ‘the incomplete script’ is another reason why Farhan has delayed the film. The script is being written by Farhan and Pushkar-Gayatri (Vikram Vedha fame). They will be requiring more time in order to finish the script that is on par with the previous installments and successfully introduces a reimagined Don for a new era.
Earlier this year, Farhan introduced Kiara Advani as the leading lady for Don 3. Reports suggest that the film is set to have a substantial budget of Rs 275 crore, with speculation mounting that it will be filmed across various expansive global locations.
Last year, Farhan Akhtar unveiled Ranveer Singh as the new Don in the teaser for Don 3: The Final Chapter. The teaser included Ranveer’s voiceover, resonating with the awakening of a lion: “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko…”
Apart from Don 3, Farhan Akhtar has an impressive lineup of projects in the pipeline. He is set to produce the upcoming drama film Jee Le Zaraa, which features a stellar cast including Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Furthermore, Akhtar will produce the comedy-drama Madgaon Express, starring Nora Fatehi, Divyendu Sharma, Avinash Tiwary, and more.
