In the same way, Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Andhadhun became a box-office success because of its unique plot and impressive performances of the actors.

Films like Stree, which starred Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, and Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani, kept the audience on the edges of their seats with their mind-blowing suspense. Just like the 2018 black comedy thriller film, titled Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurrana as the protagonist. The medium-budget film became a blockbuster hit at the box office, thanks to the unique plot it presented.

The 2018 film was made on a budget of Rs 32 crore. Andhadhun brought forth a new story which kept the audience guessing till the end. The movie beautifully captures romance as well as the suspense, along with unexpected twists and turns. The story of the film is about a blind man, played by Ayushmann, who plays piano for a living at his girlfriend’s restaurant. When a rich man is murdered, the suspicion goes toward Akash Sarraf (Ayushmann’s character), but he is blind. So, what happens next makes up the story, is Akash innocent or not, you can only find the answers after watching the film.

Andhadhun is helmed as well as co-written by Sriram Raghavan and was released on October 5, 2018. The cast of the film includes Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, Radhika Apte, and Anil Dhawan among many others. It is produced by Sudhanshu Vats, Ajit Andhare, Gaurav Nanda, Ashok Vasodia, Kewal Garg and Sanjay Routray under the banners of Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures. The film became the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2018, collecting more than Rs 456 crore at the box office.
