Equity MFs slump; Debt funds gain
Among the debt schemes the top gainer was LIC MF up 0.08 pc and top loser was Kotak Twin Advantage Fund down 0.09 pc.

New Delhi: Net Asset Value or NAV of the equity mutual fund schemes slipped into the red on Friday as the markets ended the day in red due to weak global cues and rise in crude oil prices.

The Sensex closed down 1.66 per cent or 180.28 points at 10,678.22 and the Nifty down 1.50 per cent or 47.95 at 3,121.35.

Among the equity-diversified funds, the top losers were Taurus Star Share down 1.88 per cent, Templeton India Growth Fund (G) down 1.88 per cent and LIC MF Equity Fund (G) down 1.80 per cent.

Among the tax saving funds, the only gainer was ING Vysya Tax Saving Plan (G) up 0.62 per cent. The top losers were ABN AMRO Tax Advantage Plan (ELSS) (G) down 2.10 per cent, LIC MF Tax Plan (G) down 1.55 per cent and Tata Tax Saving Fund down 1.50 per cent.

Among the sector funds, the sole gainer was Reliance Media & Entertainment Fund (G) up 0.33 per cent. The top losers were UTI Auto Sector Fund (G) down 1.54 per cent, JM Healthcare Sector Fund (G) down 1.51 per cent and Reliance Diversified Power Sector Fund (G) down 1.48 per cent.

Among the balanced funds, the only gainer was UTI CRTS up 0.04 per cent.

The top losers were LIC MF Unit Linked Insurance Scheme down 1.30 per cent, LIC MF Balanced Fund - C (G) down 1.24 per cent and HDFC Childrens Gift Fund (Inv Plan) down 1.21 per cent.

Among the debt schemes the top gainer was LIC MF Bond Fund (G) up 0.08 per cent and top loser was Kotak Twin Advantage Fund - Series II (G) down 0.09 per cent.
