A customer, who happened to be a bank manager, suggested Devendra Shah opt for the Mudra Loan Yojana scheme.

Several schemes in the country aim to provide the best benefits to the citizens. This elderly man from Bihar shared his story exclusively with Local18, detailing how he took his small business going into loss, to new heights with one of the Prime Minister’s schemes.

This is the story of Devendra Shah, who is a resident of the Katermala village, which is located in the Vaishali district of Bihar. As per the reports by Local18, for fifteen years he worked as a driver for the Patna telephone department. However, he was removed from his position suddenly, which forced him to move back to his village.

Devendra then started cultivation work and did it for two years. After that, he ventured into the milk-selling business, where he bought milk from the village and sold it in the city. However, Devendra suffered big losses because of it. A friend then advised him to start a dairy product business. So, he started the business in a small room, as the finances were weak.

One of his regular customers, who happened to be a bank manager, suggested that he should try Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) to expand his business. Devendra Shah then decided to take a loan of Rs 10 lakh through the scheme. By 2021, his business expanded considerably and he started to supply to places like Muzaffarpur, Motipur as well as Vaishali. As per reports, he gave employment to six people.

He sells three kinds of curds which are priced at Rs 60, Rs 65 and Rs 75 while the sweets are available for Rs 8, Rs 10 and Rs 15. Talking to Local18, Devendra Shah revealed that he is now able to earn an impressive Rs 80,000 every month, thanks to Prime Minister Mudra Loan Yojana.
