Mumbai: The market ended with gains ahead of monetary policy review on Tuesday. The Sensex ended up 72.50 points at 28187.06 and the Nifty was up 10.20 points at 8543.05.

SBI was up 4 per cent while ICICI Bank, Maruti, Dr Reddy's Labs and ITC were top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers were Vedanta, M&M, Lupin, Coal India and HDFC Bank.
