New Delhi: Telecom company Vodafone has cut their STD tariffs to Rs 1.30 a minute; roaming to Re 1 a minute for all incoming and local outgoing calls. The new tariffs come into effect Tuesday.
While on roaming, a subscriber can make an outgoing call (STD) at the rate of Rs 1.50 per minute.
"Vodafone has always endeavoured to deliver best value to its customers. The new reduction in tariffs reinforces our commitment to our customers," PTI quoted Mr Harit Nagpal, Director - Marketing and New Business, Vodafone-Essar as saying.
Vodafone has matched the roaming tariffs of Bharti Airtel while announcing a steeper cut in domestic outgoing (STD) calls to Rs 1.30 compared to Bharti's Rs 1.50 a minute.
Last week Bharti had dropped the STD tariffs to Rs 1.50 a minute. New tariffs would come into effect from today, a company statement said.
Vodafone Essar is a subsidiary of London-based Vodafone Group Plc and commenced operations in 1994 when its predecessor Hutchison Telecom acquired the cellular licence for Mumbai.
Vodafone Essar now has operations in 16 telecom circles in the country.
