In a recent interview, South actor MS Bhaskar expressed his admiration for actor Vijayakanth. With a filmography spanning approximately 157 movies, Vijayakanth is acclaimed as both a revolutionary artist and a stalwart in the film industry, amassing a considerable fan base. Apart from his acting career, Vijayakanth, the founder of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, found success in the 2011 Assembly elections and subsequently assumed the role of Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.
The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam or DMDK, formerly aligned with the AIADMK, participated in 41 constituencies and emerged victorious in 27. Amid a period of political downturn and health challenges for Vijayakanth, he has handed over the role of DMD General Secretary, previously held by him, to his wife, Premalatha.
Several individuals have stated that Vijayakanth treats guests and co-stars similarly to MGR. Actor MS Bhaskar shared his experience with Vijayakanth in an interview. In the interview, he said, “Vijayakanth is known for his considerate gestures. Whether seated nearby or at a distance, he is known to personally order and serve food to those around him".
After consuming a hearty meal, one might feel a bit drowsy. Vijayakanth would then instruct them to bring a large-sized tumbler of payasam and insist on finishing it," said the source. “I would mention to him that drinking it might make me sleepy. In response, he would call the director and request, ‘Let Bhaskar get a good sleep. Resume shooting the scenes where I will be present at 4:30.
“Vijayakanth just like a mother serves food and takes care of us," stated MS Bhaskar. Several social media users have commented on the video. One user wrote, “A man with a kind heart". Another added, “Real hero".
On the work front, MS Bhaskar is best known for films including Jai Bhim, Dasavatharam, Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam, and Jai Bhim. The actor has a few films in the pipeline including Sumo, Boomer Uncle, Mathimaaran, Boat, Canvas, and Raghu Thatha to name a few.
Meanwhile, Vijayakanth shot to fame with Engal Anna, Virudhagiri, Poonthotta Kaavalkkaaran, and Amman Kovil Kizhakale. Soon, he is going to star in the upcoming film Thamizhan Endru Sol.
