BCCI Announce Rs 2.8 Crores Cash Reward for IPL Venues’ Ground Staff and Curators
BCCI secretary Jay Shah expressed his gratitude to the ‘unsung heroes’ of successful India’s T20 season’ and announced substantial financial rewards of Rs. 25 lakhs each to the ground staff and curators at the ten regular IPL venues, and Rs. 10 lakhs each for the crew at the 3 additional venues.

After the commencement of IPL 2024, with Kolkata Knight Riders claiming their third IPL title, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, on Sunday, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced financial rewards for the groundsmen and curators of the IPL venues to the tune of Rs 2.8 crore.

Shah, on X (formerly known as Twitter), expressed his gratitude to the ‘unsung heroes’ of successful India’s T20 season’ and announced substantial financial rewards of Rs 25 lakhs each to the groundsmen and curators at the ten regular IPL venues and Rs 10 lakhs each for the crew at the 3 additional venues.

“The unsung heroes of our successful T20 season are the incredible ground staff who worked tirelessly to provide brilliant pitches, even in difficult weather conditions. As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the ten regular IPL venues will receive INR 25 lakhs each, and the same at the three additional venues will get INR 10 lakhs each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!” Shah wrote on Twitter.

This is not the first time Jay Shah has announced a reward for the curators and groundsmen. In September 2023, Shah Ca, paucity President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and, announced a cash reward of USD 50,000 to the pitch curators and groundsmen responsible for maintaining the cricketing venues in Kandy and Colombo during the Asia Cup 2023.

Frequent rain disruptions marred the tournament. “Big Shoutout to the Unsung Heroes of Cricket! The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) are proud to announce a well-deserved prize money of USD 50,000 for the dedicated curators and groundsmen at Colombo and Kandy,” wrote Shah.
