Cricket Australia Taunts Team India With 36 All Out Reminder After 46 All Out | Watch
India were bowled out for 46 in the first innings of the Bengaluru Test on Thursday inviting criticism on social media.

With just about a month remaining before for India’s tour of Australia gets underway, the Rohit Sharma-led team was given a timely reminder of their bating frailties in conditions assisting seam bowling by New Zealand. Under an overcast sky, India captain Rohit opted to bat first in the first Test and his batters could only last 31.2 overs in the middle as they were bowled out for 46 runs – their third-lowest innings total in Test history.

The performance was also a reminder of India’s Adelaide horror of December 2020 when they were bowled out for 36 by Australia – their lowest ever innings total in Test history. And Cricket Australia took a dig the Indian team sending them a reminder of that performance.

“Is ‘All Out 46’ the new ‘All Out 36’?” read a post from CA alongside a highlight reel of India’s batting from their forgettable show in the second innings of the Adelaide Test that saw them being bowled out in 21.2 overs.

New Zealand pace duo of Matt Henry and William O’Rourke shared nine wickets in a dominant show at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rohit was the first wicket to fall when he tried breaking the shackles after stepping out to Tim Southee in the seventh over only to see the ball sneak through the bat-pad gap and crash on the stumps. Rishabh Pant (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) were the only two batters to record scores in double-digits with as many as five failing to open their accounts.

Henry finished with brilliant bowling figures of 5/15 while O’Rourke took 4/22.

“The top-order didn’t come to the party. That’s a bit of a concern,” India spin legend Anil Kumble said on Sports18 while pointing out how the home batters have struggled on pitches where there has been some assistance for pacers.
