DC Skipper Rishabh Pant to Make 100th IPL Appearance Against RR
Pant is set to join an elite league of players as he makes his 100th appearance in the T20 extravaganza against Sanju Samson-led RR. The maverick southpaw has a century and fifteen fifties in the money-rich T20 tournament.

Rajasthan Royals welcome Delhi Capitals to the Sawai Manshingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday in what is set to be a landmark game for DC skipper Rishabh Pant, who recently returned to lead the team after being ruled out of the previous edition of the cash-rich tournament.

Pant is set to join an elite league of players when he makes his 100th appearance in the T20 extravaganza against Sanju Samson-led RR.

“Feels good to play 100 matches for the same franchise, but every game is important for me,” Pant said at the toss ahead of the momentous occasion.

Pant also becomes the first player in the history of the capital city club to reach the century mark, following Suresh Raina (CSK), Harbhajan Singh (MI), Virat Kohli (RCB), Gautam Gambhir (KKR), Ajinkya Rahane (RR) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH), who all became the first players to reach the milestone in the history of their sides.

Pant also surpasses Amit Mishra (99) to become the first player to reach the landmark for Delhi.

Pant made his IPL debut in the year 2016 and has stuck to the DC unit since his first game for the capital city side. He went on to become a fan favourite with his swashbuckling manner of batting and his reliable glovework behind the wicket.

Pant also made the highest individual score by a batter for the Delhi-based unit with his unbeaten 128 runs knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad back in the year 2018.

The maverick southpaw has a century and fifteen fifties in the money-rich T20 tournament.

Pant was named skipper of the side in the year 2021 and has managed to win 16 games as the leader, and lost 14 other fixtures while one game ended in a draw.

Pant was ruled out of the previous edition of the IPL as he was recovering from a horrendous car accident in December 2022, which sidelined the young batter for over a year as he missed the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as well.

However, Pant worked incredibly hard to recover from the life-threatening accident and has made his way back to competitive cricket much to the delight of DC fans and admirers of the player throughout the world.

DC started the ongoing season of the IPL with a loss to Punjab Kings, as the capital city side went down by 4 wickets to the Shikhar Dhawan-led side. While, RR, on the other hand, have opened their campaign with a brilliant 20-run win over Lucknow Super Giants with skipper Samson leading from the front with his unbeaten 82-run knock at their home ground.
