England is set to host Australia in five ODIs after the T20I series, which ended in a tie. Travis Head helped the visitors secure a dominant win in the first T20I.
England turned the tables in the second match and levelled the series. The third and final T20I was abandoned due to rain in Manchester. Both teams will look to make a strong statement in the upcoming ODI series as they prepare for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The first ODI between England and Australia will be held at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottingham on September 19.
England’s regular white-ball captain Jos Buttler is recovering from a calf injury and will not feature in any of the five ODIs. He was also not available in the T20I series where Phil Salt served the captaincy. For the ODIs, England has bestowed the leadership responsibility on Harry Brook.
Meanwhile, Australia will be led by Micthell Marsh in the absence of their World Cup-winning skipper Pat Cummins. Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith have returned to the fold after skipping the T20I series.
