'Haarcb': RCB Roasted on Social Media After Sixth Straight Defeat
RCB ended up on the losing end once again as they were beaten by KKR at the Eden Gardens in a last-ball thriller where they missed out on a crucial two points as their losing streak continues.

Following a disastrous start to the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru came extremely close to getting their second win of the season but they came out of it as the losers, being beaten by the Kolkata Knight Riders by 1 run at the Eden Gardens.

Following this loss, fans on social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter) have gotten ‘HaarRcb’ trending on the platform reacting to their seventh loss of the season in eight games so far.

This fan seems adamant about tagging the Bengaluru-based franchise as ‘chokers.’ But it would be very harsh to call them so as they were just a whisker’s distance away from snatching the win as Karn Sharma chipped in with a brilliant cameo of 20 in 7 balls.

The win for KKR makes it a double over RCB. They pulverised du Plessis’ side in the first game where Iyer’s side went on to chase down 186 in 16.5 overs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This fan wanted to show off the simple fact that they have beaten RCB both home and away.

The English wicketkeeper for KKR, Philip Salt deserves some special mention not only for the blistering knock in the powerplay in the first innings but also his fine take off the final ball of the game where he ran out the batter to seal the win for KKR.

It was an unexpected knock by Karn Sharma who was so close to becoming a hero for RCB as he smashed a blistering 7-ball-20 to put the side back in the game. But he fell short as he was dismissed by Starc in the penultimate delivery of the second innings.

It will be contrasting fortunes for both the men’s and women’s teams. Smriti Mandhana’s side was able to win the trophy while du Plessis’ team are nowhere close to getting a spot in the playoffs and will likely need a lot of games to go in their favour along with wins from their end.

RCB will now shift their focus to their next game which is against Sunrisers Hyderabad which will be another tough task with Pat Cummins’ side breaking many records with the bat as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have formed a lethal opening partnership at the top.
