As the World Test Championship (WTC) action heats up, several sides compete for the points to receive a shot at the prized title. The epic finale is set to take place on June 11 to June 15 with the 16th being a reserve day with the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground being confirmed as the venue for the second time in WTC history.
The Indian team have been in the finals since the WTC began, making it to the last two for the previous two editions. However, the Indian team seemed to struggle at the final hurdle.
The former Indian cricketer, Dinesh Karthik revealed his prediction on who would go to the finals for the 2024-25 edition of the WTC. In a video uploaded by Cricbuzz, DK backs the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma to get the job done and ensure that the side has yet another shot at the title. However, he believes that Pat Cummins’ Australia will also make it to the title clash, this time he sees the Indian team redeeming themselves after the heartbreaking loss to Australia in the WTC final last year.
“I think it’s going to be Australia will be in the World Test Championship final and that is India’s chance to get redemption. Two years ago they beat us at the Oval. Here is a chance that’s going to come again in 2025 and I genuinely wish India goes on to cross that hurdle and beat Australia in that World Test Championship final,” said the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru wicketkeeper.

Currently, the Indian team lead the WTC points table with Australia not too far behind. The two sides will go against each other in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series set to take place Down Under. The two teams will meet again in white in November, later this year.
Australia will look to reclaim the BGT title as it has been a decade since they last won a Test series against their Indian rivals, meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s side will be expected to put their best foot forward in hopes that they can recreate the magic from the 2020-21 series.
