In their first meeting of the season, PBKS snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, beating GT by three wickets. Shashank Singh scored a heroic unbeaten 61 off just 29 balls and was aided by Ashutosh Sharma, who scored 31 off 17 balls.
PBKS won the game on the penultimate ball of the final over to chase down 200. It has not been as smooth sailing for the Shikhar Dhawan-led side, who find themselves in ninth place in the IPL 2024 standings. They have registered two wins in seven games so far this season. Dhawan has missed a few games now due to injury which has seen Sam Curran takeover the captaincy duties.
GT, meanwhile, are placed at the eighth spot on the IPL 2024 points table. They have so far claimed three wins from seven matches.
