After Gulmarg, Sachin Tendulkar also visited the Aman Setu Bridge, which marks the final frontier on the Line of Control (LOC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. He spent some time there and interacted with the army personnel guarding the Kaman Post, which is the closest to Aman Setu.
Earlier in the day, Sachin Tendulkar paid a visit to a local bat factory – MJ Sports Bat Factory, which is popular for producing Kashmiri willow and other traditional cricketing equipment.
“The first bat given to me was by my sister and it was a Kashmir willow bat. Ab main yahan hoon to Kashmir willow ko to milna banta hai (Now as I’m here, I must meet the Kashmiri willow). P.S: An interesting fact; some of my favourite bats had only about 5-6 grains.”
Tendulkar turned quite emotional while recalling the memory of his first-ever Kashmiri willow. According to the legendary cricketer, it was his sister who gifted him the first bat.
