Here is the points table, orange cap standings and purple cap standings following the double-header.
Orange Cap Standings – Highest Run-scorer
KKR’s Andre Russell has taken the lead in the orange cap standings after a blistering knock of 64 runs in just 25 deliveries. He remained unbeaten till the end of the innings which consisted of 3 boundaries and 7 maximums in total.
At second we have SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen who managed to swing the tides back in their favour in the high-scoring affair at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. But it was in vain as he was dismissed in the penultimate delivery of the second innings.
The Englishman Sam Curran holds the third spot in the table after his measured innings where he scored the first fifty of the tournament which came during the afternoon fixture against the Delhi Capitals. His knock proved to be a crucial one as the Punjab Kings walked away with the win to begin their season on a positive note.
Purple Cap Standings – Highest Wicket-taker
In the purple-cap standings, it is CSK’s Mustafizur Rahman who holds the top spot with his four-fer from yesterday. But behind him is the SRH death-overs specialist, T Natarajan who picked up three wickets against KKR. Harshit Rana also has three scalps to his name with his match-winning spell against SRH where he bowled a brilliant final over to give the home side the victory.
League Standings – Points Table
In the points table, the Chennai Super Kings remain at the top of the table after their emphatic win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. But KKR and PBKS have also secured the two points after their respective victories.
It does seem like RCB will end up at the bottom due to their inferior net run rate after the first game for each side.
In tomorrow’s fixture, the Rajasthan Royals led by Sanju Samson will take on the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur for the afternoon fixture.
The big game however, will be in the evening as Shubman Gill makes his debut as the skipper leading the Gujarat Titans as they take on the Mumbai Indians who are now led by the Indian premier all-rounder, Hardik Pandya at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
