With one run to win, Jos Buttler went for the pull shot of Cameron but ended up toe-ending it. The ball still flew over the deep mid-wicket fence for six, as Buttler celebrated by taking off his helmet and raising his bat.

“Had a little bit of luck, did not time it well, just got over the rope, delighted with the win,” Jos Buttler, who was awarded the player of the match, said after the end of the contest.

“However long you’ve played the game, you still have those anxieties and stresses. The mind is a powerful thing, just keep digging in, keep working hard and you need a little bit of luck along the way. At some point, it will be okay and sometimes you have to tell yourself it will be okay,” Buttler added.

Through his brilliant knock, Buttler has also become only the second batter to score a century in his 100th IPL match, after KL Rahul.

When asked about his poor run with the bat, before this match, Buttler said: “I did feel really good in the last game, even though I got 13. I had a really good tournament in South Africa, I just felt like I needed one inning to put that to bed.”

As for Rasjasthan Royals’ dominant showing in the tournament so far, Buttler said even though the start has been good, they need to continue the good work.

“We started the season really well, we have been together now for three seasons, we have got a good thing going, but we need to keep working hard and keep the momentum going,” Buttler said.
