The 2024 T20 World Cup is set to get underway in USA.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to host a star-studded opening ceremony to mark the commencement of the showpiece event.
This time, the T20 World Cup will be inaugurated in the United States of America on June 1. The campaign opener will see co-hosts USA take on Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
The opening ceremony is slated to take place a couple of hours before the inaugural match which begins at 6 am. Indian fans can watch the event on the early morning of June 2.
The T20 World Cup will see the participation of 20 teams who have been divided into four groups of five each. At the end of the group stage, eight teams will qualify for the Super 8.

The Super 8 phase will be in a round-robin format to identify the four best teams who will qualify for the semi-finals. Then begins the knockout phase to make it to the T20 World Cup final.
England are the defending champions of the T20 World Cup having won the 2022 edition defeating Pakistan. Jos Buttler who captained the side in that campaign will also lead the charge in the US and the West Indies. They hare placed in Group B alongside Australia, Scotland, Oman and Namibia.
India’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign will be led by Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper will be eyeing a second crown after 2007 as he spearheads a squad featuring stars like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. The Men in Blue are one of the favourites to win the tournament alongside England and Australia.
