Virat Kohli's Reaction After Rohit Sharma Jokingly Hits Shubman Gill On The Jaw Goes Viral
The incident took place during the first session of the 2nd day's play of the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The first Test of the ongoing two-match series between India and Bangladesh is currently underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The hosts, which managed to take a lead of 227 runs at the end of the first innings of both teams on Friday, declared their second innings for 287 runs on Saturday (September 21) to set a target of 515 runs for Bangladesh to chase down in the fourth innings of the match.

During the second day’s play of the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was seen having fun with Shubman Gill. In a video going viral on the internet, the 37-year-old right-handed batter can be seen playing a prank on Gill. Sitting behind head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Indian skipper hit the young batter on the jaw. As the two continued to share a giggle, Virat Kohli was seen, presumably informing the duo that they were on camera, which sparked laughter from everyone.

This hilarious incident’s clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter). “Rohit casually hit Shubman Gill on his jaw. Virat to Rohit: They’re showing us on screen (Then all started laughing, GG, VK, and Rohit’s reaction was priceless)” the post read.

The hilarious incident occurred during India’s first innings in Chennai. The camera focused on the Indian camp’s dugout at the right time to capture the golden moment. This was not the only time during the innings that the host camp was seen having a light-hearted time.

In another moment, the Indian dressing room was laughing while Akash Deep was being tended to by a physio. Before his dismissal, Akash Deep was hit by a rogue throw from Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud, which led to the Indian fast bowler requiring medical attention.

During Akash Deep’s injury pause, Kohli could be seen saying something to Gambhir. The comment left the Indian head coach in splits. Rohit and Gill also joined in on the fun as everyone laughed together. One fan shared the interaction’s clip on X and asked, “GG laughing like that? What is the joke?”

Gill, who failed to open his account in the first innings, top-scored for India in the second innings. The 25-year-old right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 119 runs. During his stay at the crease, he faced a total of 176 balls and hammered 10 fours and four sixes. He added 167 runs for the fourth wicket with Rishabh Pant, who also in his comeback Test scored a century.

The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter amassed a total of 109 runs from 128 balls with the help of 13 fours and four sixes. India declared its second inning for 287 runs to set up a total of 515 runs for Bangladesh to chase down and win the match.
