Aiden Markram was the happiest on Tuesday as his team, Surisers Eastern Cape (SEC) stormed into the final of SA20 2024 after defeating Durban Super Giants (DSG) by 51 runs in Cape Town. The winning skipper made a notable contribution of 30 runs in 23 balls after opting to bat and setting DSG a 158-run target. But more than his cameo with the bat, his efforts on the field in the second innings left the viewers amazed.
Markram pulled off a one-handed stunner to dismiss JJ Smuts in the 4th over to give early jolts to DSG in the chase. Smuts pulled a short ball from Ottniel Baartman towards mid-on, looking to get a boundary. However, Markram came flying to pluck the ball from thin air with his right hand outstretched over his head.
Markram rolled over the ground as he landed on the floor but held the ball in his hands. The players of the Eastern Cape rushed towards the skipper to congratulate him over the supernatural act he performed that had left Smuts in disbelief.

DSG will travel to Johannesburg, where they will meet the winner of Paarl Royals vs Joburg Super Kings in Qualifier 2 at the Wanderers on Thursday, for a second opportunity to advance to the final.
