Jasprit Bumrah was seen practicing his batting during the training session ahead of Mumbai Indians' upcoming game against Delhi Capitals.

Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah exhibited batting skills during his team’s training session ahead of his side’s Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture. Widely regarded as the world’s most consistent pacer, Bumrah can also have some crazy moments with the willow.

Ahead of Mumbai Indians’ match against the Delhi Capitals, the ace India pacer showcased his prowess with the bat. During the training session, Bumrah played a wide variety of shots in the nets.

A montage of all his hits was shared by the five-time IPL champions on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Aaj batting tera Jassi bhai karega, [Today your brother Jassi will bat],” read the post.

One of Jasprit Bumrah’s finest batting moments came in 2022 during the fifth Test match between India and England. Bumrah had smashed English pacer Stuart Broad for 35 runs in a single over. The epic knock began with a four at a short ball from the now-retired English fast bowler.

Bumrah followed up with a six on a delivery that was also declared a no-ball. Bumrah added three more boundaries and a maximum in the same over to record the most runs ever scored in a Test over. The record was previously held jointly by Brian Lara, George Bailey and Keshav Maharaj with each scoring 28 runs.

As for his campaign in IPL 2024, Jasprit Bumrah has managed 11 runs with the bat in the eight matches he has played so far. While his numbers with the willow do not sound impressive, he has once again stepped up in the bowling department to take 13 wickets in the same number of games. Bumrah’s best performance of the season came against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru this season. In that match, he had picked up a fifer while giving away just 21 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently the ninth-highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL with 158 scalps in 128 matches. he will now be looking to surpass Mumbai Indians and Sri Lanka legend Malinga’s 170-wicket tally this season.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians are not having the best of campaigns this year. They have won three games so far in eight matches this season. In their last match, Mumbai Indians conceded a nine-wicket loss at the hands of table-toppers Rajasthan Royals.
