Later, he took part in India’s triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign and then in an ODI series against Sri Lanka. Now, he is currently preparing for the upcoming edition of the Duleep Trophy which may very well decide the fate of quite a few Indian cricketers in Test cricket.
Pant has shared a clip of his training session on social media in which he can be seen unleashing a variety of shots. He charged down the track to for an aerial shot, played the traditional sweep and reverse-sweep too.

It has been 18 months since Pant had last featured in a red-ball fixture. The two-match series later in September against Bangladesh may mark his return in India’s Test whites.
Ahead of that series, Pant will have to ply his trade in the Duleep Trophy which will be his return to first-class cricket. He will play for India B under the leadership of Abhimanyu Easwaran.
In this year’s edition of the IPL, Pant captained Delhi Capitals. The franchise finished sixth in the standings having registered seven wins and as many defeats.
Pant scored 446 runs in 13 matches at a strike-rate of over 155 along with three half-centuries. He also emerged as the highest run scorer from his side.
