'We Need to Take Care of Him': KL Rahul Speaks Out on Mayank Yadav's Injury Scare Against MI
One point of concern that may have arisen for the Super Giants again might be the possible injury of returning pacer Mayank Yadav.

It wasn’t pretty, but they got it done. And LSG skipper KL Rahul will be all the more relieved to take home the win tonight, after the side faced a bit of a scare, in their shaky 4-wicket win off the last over against Mumbai Indians in Lucknow last night.

LSG thrived with the ball, in the first innings, picking up four wickets in the powerplay. Mohsin Khan, Stoinis, and Naveen-ul-Haq delivered some fine performances with the ball to put the home side in front as they restricted MI to a mere 144 runs.

In the run-chase though, the home side did fumble for a brief period in the latter stages. Marcus Stoinis came in to bat after debutant, Arshin Kulkarni was dismissed for a first-ball duck, and led the charge as led the run-chase of 145 with a composed half-century. Despite the timely fall of wickets, Nicholas Pooran got the job done with 4 balls left.

“We still had batters in the middle. An experienced batter in Pooran and KP is seasoned as well. 165-170 would have made it a competitive game. It takes time to adjust to this wicket. Our bowlers did well and put pressure on them,” stated a relieved KL Rahul at a post-match interview.

One point of concern that may have arisen for the Super Giants again might be the possible injury of returning pacer Mayank Yadav.

Mayank claimed the wicket of Mohammad Nabi in the first ball of his last over and was instantly escorted out of the field with a seeming inflammation yet again of what may be his back muscles again.

For LSG and Rahul, Mayank proves to be an X-factor with his blistering pace and talent, and skipper Rahul reinstated the importance of tending to the young pacer accordingly.

“I haven’t spoken to Mayank much. He had some pain in his sides. He said thoda dukh raha hai. So, I asked him to go out. He is useful to us. We need to take care of him. He bowled wide yorkers and slower bumpers today which was good to see. We are giving him a free hand,” stated Rahul.

With their win today, LSG shot themselves up to third place in the standings with 10 points, as MI lurks near the bottom of the table.
