Spinners Shreyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux and Asha Sobhana took nine wickets between them while Ellyse Perry showed calmness with an unbeaten 35 to help Royal Challengers Bangalore win the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 title with an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

Understably, it was all RCB in the season awardee’s list as Ellyse Perry won the Orange Cap, having scored 347 runs in the season, while Shreyanka Patil claimed the Purple Cap of the season with 13 wickets to her name.
Georgia Wareham won the Electric Striker of the Season award as Sanjeevan Sajana clinched the catch of the season award.
Royal Challengers Bangalore also won the Fairplay Award as Deepti Sharma was adjudged the Most Valuable Player in th 2024 WPL.
Deepti Sharma on recieving the Most Valuable Player award, said: “I played my actual game, kept belief in myself with different shots at right occasions. Before the tournament, worked on drills on the off-side to improve the game, I played my shots on the off-side, I’m happy for that. Last season, wasn’t getting much opportunity with the bat and this season I batted up the order too, I was able to contribute as well and feeling happy.”
Sophie Molineux on being adjudged the Player of the Match in the final, said: Was a great match, finals are always funny game, usually go down to the wire. Delhi Capitals were an amazing team, really happy to get over the line. Felt like I was bowling slow tonight, the innings and mistakes before that, we always wanted to correct it next game. This one’s special, to be taken by RCB after not playing a lot of cricket. It just helps us go from strength to strength.
