WWE Hall of Famer Hails Rishabh Pant's 'Discipline and Commitment' as IND Star is All Set to Make Test Comeback
Surprisingly, a WWE Hall of Famer has hailed Rishabh Pant's immense resilience as he is set to make a comeback to Test Cricket.

Rishabh Pant is back in India’s Test setup after a life-threatening accident kept him away for over a year. The wicketkeeper-batter has secured a place in India’s 16-man squad for the first Test against Bangladesh, slated to begin on September 19. Ahead of his highly anticipated comeback, Pant has garnered appreciation from WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff. Pant was out of action following a horrific road accident in December 2022.

He returned in the last Indian Premier League (IPL). Pant was a key member of the Indian team which lifted the T20 World Cup in Barbados in June.

His inspirational journey seems to have touched Eric Bischoff. The General Manager of WWE RAW has branded Pant as a “deadly combination” of “discipline and commitment”. Bischoff shared his thoughts by responding to an X post that talked about Pant’s “remarkable story of resilience and willpower”.

The post highlighted excitement for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy while reminiscing about Pant’s heroics in the last Test series in Australia in 2021. India will play five Test matches on home soil before jetting off to Australia for the series in November.

Eric Bischoff’s words of appreciation came as a welcome surprise to many Indian cricket fans. One of them asked Bischoff, “You follow cricket? Didn’t know that, at all. Nice one.”

A user commented, “Loved to see your passion for Cricket and especially about Rishabh Pant like how you kept track of his return.”

Another reckons a “WWE Hall of Famer must know how much hard work needs to come back again.”

A proud fan noted, “WWE star is praising Rishabh Pant. When you’re big, You’re big.”

During India’s last tour of Australia, Rishabh Pant stole the show with his gritty batting in the last Test at Gabba. While chasing a 328-run target, the Virat Kohli-led side was reeling at 167/3. Pant changed the course of the game with an unbeaten 89 and helped his team notch a three-wicket victory in the historic game. India won the four-match series 2-1. They also became the first Asian side to win a Test series in Australia.
