'You'll Win This Trophy': Pitch Curator's Heartwarming Message to Rajasthan Royals Skipper Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson has made the cut in India's 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

IPL 2024 table-toppers Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson received blessings from a pitch curator after being named in India’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Samson has been in terrific form for RR this IPL and he’s been rewarded with a place in India’s 15-man squad.

RR shared a video of the wicketkeeper-batter’s interaction with the pitch curator on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the clip, the pitch curator could be heard saying, “You’ll always have my support and my blessings till my time. I’m so happy. You’ll do it. You’ll do it, you’ll win this trophy and you’ll definitely do it very well”.

Sanju Samson will be competing for international glory in the West Indies and the United States from June as one of the two wicketkeepers for India. He will most likely play a supporting role to Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant who is expected to be the first-choice wicketkeeper. The inclusion of these two means that the likes of Dinesh Karthik and KL Rahul didn’t make the cut.

Samson has represented India in several bilateral series and tours. He has been impressive in the IPL this season, producing several match-winning knocks. The wicketkeeper-batter has smashed 385 runs in the competition while averaging 77 and has a strike-rate of 161.09.

Samson has notched up four fifties in nine games he has played so far.

RR are currently leading the race for the IPL playoffs with 16 points this season. They have lost just one game so far this and are currently on a four-match winning streak.

They dominated the Lucknow Super Giants in their previous game, beating the Rahul-led side by seven wickets. Samson was declared the Player of the Match in that fixture after scoring 71 off just 33 deliveries.

T20 World Cup is set to begin from June 2 when hosts USA face Canada.

India will not be playing their tournament opener until a week later when they lock horns with Ireland. The contest will be played on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
