The star couple shared quite a few pictures of the celebration for Gudi Padwa at their household.

Legendary India pacer Zaheer Khan and his actress-entrepreneur wife Sagarika Ghatge shared a glimpse of their Gudi Padwa celebration on Instagram.

The star couple shared quite a few pictures of the celebration at their household. In those pictures, Zaheer could be seen wearing a traditional kurta whereas Sagarika opted for a peach-coloured glittering saree. Both Zaheer and Sagarika were all smiles as they posed together. In the caption, Sagarika wrote, “Happy Gudi Padwa from us to you”.

“I don’t know this is happening after how many years, but it’s special. There’s excitement to celebrate these festivals together. We both have a sweet tooth, so it’s a double dhamaka and food marathon of sorts,” Zaheer Khan said in an interview with the Times of India

Speaking about their relationship the couple added, “Our parents never told us to stick to just one set of beliefs. After we got married, we sought blessings at the Ambabai temple in Kolhapur, Ram Mandir in Kagal as well the dargah which lies adjacent to the mandir”.

Zaheer Khan is not the only cricketer to celebrate the festival. Sachin Tendulkar also shared a video showcasing how his family enjoyed Gudi Padwa. In the post, Sachin can be seen performing rituals around a holy flag that is surrounded by a rangoli. In the post, Sachin wrote, “Celebrating Gudi Padwa in the traditional way, with those we care for and who care for us, is a special joy.”.

As for Zaheer Khan’s career, the Indian bowling icon is widely considered to be one of the most impactful pacers in Indian cricket history. He has represented India in 92 Tests, 200 ODIs and 17 T20Is. In those matches, Zaheer has scalped more than 600 wickets.

Zaheer has also played a total of 100 IPL games for franchises including the Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and the Mumbai Indians. In these matches, the Indian pacer accumulated 102 wickets at an average of 27.27 and an economy of 7.59. He produced his best numbers in 2012 with 17 wickets in 16 games while playing his final season for the Delhi-based franchise in 2017.
