The Bihar Board has recently taken a great initiative. There are students who are preparing for entrance exams of top medical or engineering colleges after class 10, but cannot afford expensive coaching classes. Now, the Bihar Board has taken up the responsibility to provide free coaching for competitive exams like National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The best in the country will teach these aspirants. This is being done under a free education programme. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has recently issued an advertisement regarding this. It clearly states that students of any board — be it CBSE, ICSE, or others — have the opportunity to enrol in this free non-residential education program. This program will also include students who will give their written consent for admission through the Bihar School Examination.
After applying online, students will be selected on the basis of an entrance exam and an interview. These students will be given medical and engineering coaching at the educational centres set up at divisional headquarters. No fee will be charged for this. This initiative by the Bihar government is completely free. Hundred seats have been kept for students in each divisional headquarters. They will be selected on the basis of a merit list.
According to reports, there are 50 boys and 50 girls for medical (NEET UG) and 50 boys and 50 girls for engineering (JEE) in each divisional headquarters. The selected students will be given coaching from the best teachers in the country, who have taught in reputed coaching institutes in Kota, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Kolkata. These teachers will take special classes for JEE and NEET through video conferencing.
Along with this, the Bihar Board will also give scholarships to these children, along with free coaching. A scholarship of one thousand rupees will be given every month. The coaching will last for two years. A scholarship of Rs 24,000 will be given to the students in two years.
For this, students will have to apply online on the official website, coaching.biharboardonline.com, before March 10.
Earlier, The Bihar School Examination Board announced that free coaching would be provided to the state’s Class 10th Toppers 2023 in order to assist them in getting ready for JEE and NEET-UG. According to the Bihar Board’s official release, students who earned more than 90 percent marks in the BSEB Matric Class 10 exams in 2023 are eligible to apply for the free coaching program.
