The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced an extension for the online application submission deadline of the Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) until March 1st. This marks the second extension granted by Bihar’s education board for registration, facilitating interested candidates in applying for the exam. The STET is conducted to assess the eligibility of candidates aspiring to become Secondary level teachers (Class 9-10) and Higher Secondary level teachers (Class 11-12). However, exam dates following the extension have not yet been released, though candidates can download their dummy admit cards from the same website.

Step 2: Click on the application link on the homepage.

Step 3: Register by providing basic details such as contact number and email ID.

Step 4: Access the application form using your registered ID and password.

Step 5: Fill out the application form with the required details.

Step 6: Upload necessary documents including signature and photograph.

Step 7: Pay the applicable application fee.

Step 8: Submit the form and download it for future reference.

The application fee for a single paper for candidates belonging to the General, Backward Class and EWS categories is Rs 960, while SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates are required to pay Rs 760. For those applying for both papers in the General, Backward Class and EWS categories, the fee is Rs 1,440 and for SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates, it is also Rs 1,440.

The Bihar STET exam comprises 150 questions each in Paper 1 and Paper 2, with 100 questions based on prescribed subjects and 50 covering the teacher’s art and other skills. The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours and it will be conducted online. To qualify, General category candidates need to score a minimum of 50 per cent marks, while backward classes require 45.5 per cent, extremely backward classes require 42.5 per cent and SC-ST, disabled and women candidates must score 40 per cent marks.

This extension provides candidates with additional time to complete their applications and prepare for the upcoming examination, ensuring a fair opportunity for all aspirants.
