Success stories of students go viral on the internet every day. Recently, one such story has gained attention. Babita, a resident of Basaitha village in Bihar’s Madhubani, became the first girl in her locality to become an accounts officer. According to reports, Babita’s father is a daily wage earner who earns a meagre salary. It was not easy for her to become an officer. Babita shared that, despite being illiterate, her father Surendra Ram kept encouraging her to study. Her father’s struggle has made her career. Babita has now qualified for the BPSC and has become an accounts officer.
As per reports, Basaitha village is full of educated people, but the number of literate people in Babita’s scheduled locality is very low. She is the only girl in the locality who has done 11th, 12th, graduation, and post-graduation.
Babita also shared that her childhood was spent in great poverty. She has two brothers and a sister in the family. Her father works as a labourer and earns Rs 300 or Rs 500 per day. This is how their house runs.
Babita appeared for the BPSC exam in the year 2020 and was selected as an accounts officer. Her father and mother are unaware of which post their daughter has been selected for. They still say that she has a government job.
After Babita’s selection, the condition of the house has improved a bit. Earlier, the house used to be made of straw. Now she has started making a house, which will be built in the next few months. Despite this, the father has not left his work.
In a recent media interaction, Surendra Ram said that his daughter is posted in Patna. Now, he wants to educate other children so that they can be successful, just like his daughter. Babita is the first girl from the extremely backward class of this prosperous village to reach this position, and she has now become an example for others.
