Delhi Govt School Admission 2024-25: Registration For Classes 6 to 9 Begins Today at edudel.nic.in

The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi will commence the registration process for admissions to Delhi government schools for classes 6 to 9, for the academic session 2024-25 today, April 8. Parents aiming to secure admission for their children in Delhi government schools must fill out the registration form accessible on the official website, edudel.nic.in.

As per the official notice, “Students presently studying/placed under NSO in Government/Government Aided Schools shall approach their last attended school for further assistance regarding their transfer/readmission.”

For admission to Class 6, students declared pass/promoted in Class 5 will be registered online, while out-of-school children will undergo physical registration at any school closer to their residence. Meanwhile, all the parents whose child has not attended school and falls within the age group of 10-12 years are encouraged to register their ward at the nearest school, where the child will undergo an assessment for Foundational Literacy & Numeracy. The child’s class of admission will be determined based on the assessment results.

Delhi Schools Non-Plan Admission 2024: Age Limit

Parents should check the age criteria for admission to Delhi government schools for classes 6 to 9. The Heads of Schools (HoS) hold the discretion to grant a maximum and minimum age relaxation of six months.

Class 6: Completed age of 10 but less than 12 years

Class 7: Completed age of 11 but less than 13 years

Class 8: Completed age of 12 but less than 14 years

Class 9: Completed age of 13 but less than 15 years

Delhi Schools Non-Plan Admission 2024: Schedule

Admissions for Delhi Government schools, falling under the non-plan category, will be conducted in three cycles.

Registration for Cycle 1, Cycle 2, and Cycle 3 will occur from April 8 to April 17, May 15 to June 15, and July 10 to July 31.

The display of allotted schools to registered applicants will take place on April 29, June 27, and August 12.

Moreover, the submission and verification of documents for admission to allotted schools are scheduled to occur from April 30 to May 10, June 28 to July 6, and August 13 to August 31.
