JEE Main 2024: Jharkhand's Koderma Boy Abhigyan Sinha Gets 99.93 Percentile
Smita Sinha, Abhigyan Sinha's mother, said that she took leave from her teaching job at a private school in Koderma to support her son's dreams.

Abhigyan Sinha, a young boy from Koderma, Jharkhand has achieved remarkable success in the JEE Main 2024 examination. In his very first attempt, he secured an All-India rank of 1,118. Abhigyan’s parents, Sunil Kumar Sinha and Smita Sinha, who reside in Bhadodih Road New Colony, Jhumri Tilaiya, are both teachers.

Abhigyan shared with Local18 that he had topped the Koderma district with 99 per cent marks in his 10th-grade exams. It was then that he set his sights on a career in engineering after scoring a perfect 100 in Mathematics. He aspires to pursue computer science engineering and serve as a scientist at ISRO. With this goal in mind, he dedicated himself to rigorous study sessions of 12 to 14 hours a day to secure admission to the top engineering college in the country.

His hard work saw results when he achieved a remarkable 99.93 percentile in the JEE Main results. Abhigyan credits his success to the support of his parents, grandparents, teachers and friends. His dream now is to get admission to IIT Mumbai.

Smita Sinha, Abhigyan’s mother, revealed that she took leave from her teaching job at a private school in Koderma to support her son’s dreams. She moved with him to Bokaro, where he enrolled in a private institute for JEE Advanced preparation. Both mother and son reside in Bokaro presently, ensuring that Abhigyan faces no obstacles in his studies. Smita expressed immense joy at her son’s achievement, stating that their decision to relocate from Koderma to Bokaro has been vindicated. She emphasised that the family will continue to stand by Abhigyan in his future endeavours.

Abhigyan’s father, Sunil Kumar Sinha, initially had hoped for his son to pursue medicine. Recognising Abhigyan’s brilliance from a young age, he supported his son’s decision to pursue engineering after his stellar performance in the 10th grade. Despite not seeking external coaching until the 12th grade, Abhigyan’s determination and hard work have propelled him to success in the JEE Mains examination.
