The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) closed the registration for constable recruitment on January 16. The board has invited applications for 60,244 vacant constable positions, and applicants need a minimum 10th-class qualification. The eligible age range is 18 to 25 years.
The recruitment process involves a rigorous selection procedure, including a written test along with physical standard and efficiency tests. Successful candidates in the written examination will proceed to the physical tests, marking a crucial phase in the selection process.
Preparation was done for 32 lakh candidates:
According to the report published in Hindustan, the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board had not expected more than 32 lakh applications from the candidates. But at present it is being said that 50.14 lakh applications have been received at the end of the registration process.
Of these, 35 lakh applicants are men and 15 lakh are women. UP Police recruitment examination is scheduled to be held in February 2024, as per the sources. These applications are for 60,244 posts across the State.
More than 6,000 examination centres will be built:
Reports suggest as many as 6,500 centres will be created for the UP Police Recruitment Examination. However, due to the increase in the number of candidates, the state government may also add to the number of examination centres. Along with this, exam shifts can also be increased. Besides, the administration will also have to make changes in its preparations, considering the number of examinees.
Police will be on alert:
This examination is challenging for the candidates as well as for the recruitment board. Both UP Police and Railway officials will also be kept on alert to avert untoward incidents.
Examination Date:
The examination date is yet to be officially announced. According to the Times Of India report, the UP constable exam is tentatively scheduled for February 18. Considering the massive influx of applications, the official examination date is yet to be announced on the official website. Candidates can anticipate the release of the admit cards in the first or second week of February.
