London: Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke remains convinced over a move to Tottenham ahead of Chelsea. The London Evening Standard reports that Benteke has been aware of interest from the two London clubs for some time, but has his heart set on a move to White Hart Lane.
He is more confident of playing regularly at Spurs, which is crucial with the World Cup in Brazil next year. It is believed Benteke fears Chelsea will sign another forward, even if he was to make the switch to west London.
There is also a suspicion that Chelsea see him as a last resort, having already missed out on a number of forwards this summer, including Radamel Falcao, Edinson Cavani and Robert Lewandowski.
Chelsea are still interested in Wayne Rooney but Manchester United manager David Moyes has stated that striker is not for sale.
