London: Manchester United took on Blackburn Rovers in the Carling Cup Wednesday night, a 5-3 victory ensuring them of a place in the last 4.
The usual suspects were the stars of the night with Carlos Tevez shining the brightest.
After going 2-nil up in the first half with Tevez and Nani scoring one each, the home team conceded a goal with Benni McCarthy pulling one back.
Nothing to stop Tevez on his night, he completed a hat-trick in the 54th minute.
Blackburn made it 3-4 to the visitors, only to have Tevez come back and score his 4th in extra time. 5-3 to United, they now join Burnley, Derby County and Tottenham Hotspur in the semis.
Meanwhile, the freezing cold stung Tottenham Hotspur even worse as their pedestrian defense allowed Hungarian international Tomas Priskin enough space on the edge of the area before he found the bottom corner, and the Hornets were away.
Roman Pavlyuchenko equalised from the penalty spot a minute into the second half to quiet the Watford supporters.
One-all, game on. It was however left to Jamie O'Hara and Aaron Lennon to squirt through the Watford defense to help England striker Darren Bent to poach the late winner, 14 minutes from time. Tottenham through to the semi-final 2-1.
