New Delhi: Wayne Rooney was the star at Old Trafford with two second-half strikes after Manchester United had trailed 2-1 at half-time. And Sir Alex Ferguson knows it will take another fine performance if his side are to progress.
"It's obviously going to have to be a massive performance and I think we have to score. I think we saw the quality of AC Milan in the first game, so we know the task. We have to perform at a very high level but I think we are capable of that and hopefully that is the case tomorrow," Sir Alex Ferguson said on Tuesday.
Brazilian Kaka scored twice in the first half at Old Trafford to put the Italian side in front and John O'Shea could be given the job of man-marking the Brazilian star with several United defenders out through injury and suspension.
"He's an outstanding talent, we obviously saw that in the first leg and we know we'll have to be on our top form to stop him. But if we concentrate too much on Kaka that's when the other Milan players will take advantage so you've got to find the balance right," was O'Shea's response.
Milan have been at the pinnacle of European football for much of the last two decades and have reached a record five finals since the inception of the Champions League in 1992, and Ancelotti is brimming with confidence.
"Our aim is to control the game. I cannot predict the final result or who will win but our aim is to control the game as we did in Manchester for 60 minutes. And we will try to do it tomorrow for 90 minutes, that is the best path to victory," Ancelotti told reporters.
Milan have won all three fixtures against United in Italy without conceding a goal. United will have to rewrite history - something they are in the habit of doing.
