Munich: Jupp Heynckes has ruled out coaching again and says he's had a worthy farewell with an unprecedented treble for a German club with Bayern Munich, including the Champions League trophy.

After Bayern completed the treble earlier this month, Heynckes left his future open, saying he was taking time off. But now he's told Spiegel news magazine he was through.

"I can assure you that I'm not going to coach again. I had a worthy farewell," the 68-year-old Heynckes told Spiegel.

Heynckes also ruled out taking over a national team, including Germany.

"I have no ambition to become Germany coach," Heynckes said in an interview with Kicker magazine, also published Sunday.

Bayern decided not to extend Heynckes' contract and hired former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

Heynckes said this was the "right decision" that brought about a "change in generations".

"Bayern had to act. If Bayern had not found an adequate replacement, we could have talked again. But the way things turned out is how I like it best," he told Spiegel.

Heynckes said he was leaving Guardiola a "perfectly functioning team". Guardiola begins the job on June 26.

Bayern broke multiple Bundesliga records and won the title with six matches to spare, finishing 25 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund. Bayern beat Dortmund for their fifth Champions League title, then beat Stuttgart in the final of the German Cup.
