New Delhi: The owners of Juventus, the Agnelli family, have on Thursday declared that whilst they would like to bring many players to Turin, the main name on their agenda is Lionel Messi.
Following their demotion to Serie B back in 2006, Juventus have risen like a phoenix from the flames, gaining instant promotion to Serie A, and now looking impressive in the Champions League.
Victories against Real Madrid both in Italy and in Spain signalled their return to power, and they currently sit second in the domestic table, behind Inter Milan.
Despite their obvious improvement though, there have still been some criticisms of the side due to the ages of some of the more senior players.
For this reason it is perhaps not surprising that when the owners of the club, the Agnelli family, were questioned about who they would like to sign, they picked out one of the most sprightly players in the world.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Andrea Agnelli, said that should they able to bring in anybody, they would choose young Barcelona star, Lionel Messi.
"I would like to have so many players...but I do not want to give any names. But, of course, I will make an exception with one dream; Lionel Messi," he declared.
Whilst the idea of Messi joining the Turin club would certainly be a dream for most Juventus fans, that is all it is likely to be for the foreseeable future.
The Argentine currently has a contract that expires in 2014 with the Catalan side, and his buy-out clause is a massive €150 million.
