New Delhi: Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is confident he can agree a new deal at The Emirates.
The Danish frontman joined the Gunners at just 16 years of age in 2004, originally as a member of the youth team.
Bendtner made the step up to the first team squad the following season before spending a year on loan with Birmingham City in the 2006-07 season.
His 11 league goals helped fire the Blues towards promotion and a coveted place in the Premier League.
Since returning to Arsenal the 21-year-old has been given further first team chances by manager Arsene Wenger, and despite being linked with a move to Italian giants AC Milan, is determined to hold down a regular first team spot.
Bendtner told Danish TV2, "Since I was 16 my ambition has been to play for the (Arsenal) first team."
The Danish international seemed confident a new deal would be agreed with the London club, revealing, "We are still talking and I hope that we can reach an agreement.
"There are, at least, no obstacles in the way."
Bendtner has made 93 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 25 goals and assisting in a further 10.
