Porto: FC Porto beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday to set up a decider with Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks' time for the top spot in Group A. Group leader Porto, undefeated so far, have 13 points to 12 for the second-place French club. They meet in Paris for the last group game on Dec. 4 to determine the top-seeded team in the draw for the tournament's knockout stage.
Lucho Gonzalez, unmarked in the Dinamo area, hit a left-foot shot for his second goal in the tournament after 20 minutes. Portugal's Joao Moutinho fired in a 67th-minute free kick, and Silvestre Varela sealed the victory five minutes from the end. Porto, a two-time European champion who haven't missed the knockout round since the 2005-06 season, were untroubled in a mostly uneventful encounter with Dinamo, who extended their winless streak in the tournament to 11 games.
Dinamo, looking for their first goal and first points in the tournament this season, almost scored with the first shot of the game as Sammir's 13th-minute effort bounced back off Helton's far post. Just before halftime Ivan Peko and Domagoj Vida also came close. But Porto were always the likely winner and in the final stages Dinamo goalkeeper Ivan Kevala prevented a bigger loss by denying Varela and Jackson Martinez.
