New Delhi: Tottenham Hotspur have been given the green light to make an offer for Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro.
Fabio Cannavaro, who is contractually tied to the Bernebeau until this summer, has had his future called into question with regards as to where the Italian legend will end up next season.
Owing to several contrasting reports, the 35-year-old has decided to address the matter head-on by revealing to the press that, while his main focus is wrapping up this season with Real Madrid, if any other teams are interested in him, all they have to do is contact his agent.
"I have a contract with Real Madrid until June," Cannavaro told The Sun.
"Whoever wants me can call my agent. The future is not my principal problem and if I were to stop I would still have had a wonderful career," said Cannavaro
With Ledley King's career hanging in the balance, reports over the weekend suggest that Spurs are interested in having the former FIFA Player of the Year take over at the heart of their defence.
The north London outfit would be looking to Cannavaro to add experience to the club's defence, but with regards to his age, Spurs would have to strike while the iron is hot, seeing as the Italian will probably be looking to retire in a few years time.
