Krakow: Theo Walcott is a doubt for England's decisive European Championship match against Ukraine after pulling out of training with a hamstring problem on Sunday.
The Arsenal winger missed two matches near the end of the Premier League season after injuring his left hamstring during a game against Chelsea.
And it was troubling Walcott again on Sunday, forcing him out England training early as a precaution after feeling a "slight tightness," coach Roy Hodgson said.
"Unfortunately he had a slight setback in training today so that's the major concern with him," Hodgson told the BBC. "He felt the hamstring that of course kept him out for so long at the end of last season, and that we were slightly concerned about when he came to us."
In his first appearance at a major tournament, the 23-year-old Walcott scored one goal and set up another after coming on a second-half substitute against Sweden on Friday to help England win 3-2.
His impact from the bench raised the prospect of a starting spot in the final match in Group D on Tuesday when England only need a draw against Ukraine to reach the quarter-finals.
"Whether or not he is a real contender for a starting position will depend to some extent on what the medical people can tell me, on how much guarantee they he can give me that if I do start him in the game he won't be leaving the field after five minutes," Hodgson said.
Ukraine captain and striker Andriy Shevchenko is meanwhile an injury doubt for the home side.
