Yami Gautam-starrer Article 370 is going steady at the box office. The movie has been liked by the audience since day one. As per reports, Article 370 has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India and is rapidly moving towards the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. The actress who has received praises from critics and audiences alike recently took a dig at Indian award shows and also applauded Cillian Murphy for clinching Oscars.
Taking to her X(formerly Twitter) handle, Yami Gautam penned on Monday, “Having no belief in any of the current fake “filmy” awards, since the last few years, I stopped attending them but today i am feeling really happy for an extraordinary actor who stands for patience, resilience & so many more emotions. Article 370 is making waves not only in the country but also in foreign countries. Talking about worldwide earnings, the film has so far minted Rs 77.07 crore worldwide, and very soon, it will enter the Rs 100 crore club. Article 370 was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore, including production and advertising costs.
This political drama film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Jambhale. The movie revolves around the most controversial revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. The film has Yami Gautam in the lead role, who plays the character of Zooni Haksar, an intelligence agent. Other important actors include Priyamani, Divya Seth Shah, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, Kiran Karmarkar and Raj Zutshi.
The movie is backed jointly by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the banner of Jio Studios and B62 Studios. It is written by Aditya Dhar.
Yami Gautam recently went live on social media to celebrate Article 370’s success and the praise she is getting for her performance. The actress had an interaction session with the fans regarding her film Article 370. During the live session, one of the fans hailed her performance in the comment box and wrote, “National award toh pakkaaa.”
Yami Gautam replied to the comment made by her fan and said, “I am reading such kinds of comments daily, but there is nothing like this on my mind. The only thing that was on my mind was that I wanted to do justice to the real-life character I was playing, and we were making a film on a very important subject. I have not thought of any awards, and I am happy that my fans and the audiences are happy with my work and the film, and this is my only reward.”
Yami Gautam will next be seen in the upcoming film Dhoom Dhaam.
