How to Get Access to Profile Colors on Discord

• Basic accounts can change the banner color, but you must have Nitro to change the profile theme.
• On desktop, click the cog icon. Click "Profiles" → "Banner Color" → select a new color. Click "Save Changes".
• On mobile, tap your user icon → "Profiles" → tap the pencil icon. Tap "Banner Color" → select a new color → "Select" → "Save".

Using Desktop

Launch the Discord desktop app. Discord is available to download on Windows, Mac, and Linux. If you aren't already logged in, enter your email address and password to do so now, or create an account. You can also use Discord in a desktop browser at https://discord.com/. All Discord users will be able to change their profile banner color. However, you must have Discord Nitro to get access to more customization options.

Click the cog icon. You can find this at the bottom-left corner, next to your Discord ID. The User Settings page will open.

Click Profiles. This will be underneath the User Settings header.

Click Banner Color. This will be underneath the Avatar section. If you have Discord Nitro, you'll see Change Banner.

Select a new color. Use the color slider to adjust the shade and hue. You can also enter a hex code into the field below. On Discord Nitro, you can select Upload Image or Choose GIF. Upload Image: navigate to an image saved to your computer. Click it, and then click Open. Choose GIF: search through Trending GIFs, or use the search bar to find a GIF. Click the one you want.

Click Save Changes. As you make changes to your profile, a pop-up will open on the bottom to warn you of unsaved changes. Click the green button to apply your customizations.

Change your profile theme (Nitro only). Underneath the Profile Theme header, you'll see Primary and Accent. The Preview window will show the new colors as you edit them. Click Primary. This is the main color of your profile theme, starting at the top of the page. Use the color slider to adjust the shade and hue. You can also insert a hex code into the field. Click Accent. This is the accent color of your profile theme, beginning at the bottom of the page. This blends into the primary color. Use the color slider to adjust the shade and hue. You can also insert a hex code into the field. Click Save Changes when you're finished.

Change a server profile (Nitro only). Nitro users are able to set a unique profile for different servers. To do so, click the Server Profiles tab in the Profiles section. Select a server from the Choose a Server drop-down menu. Click the field for Server Nickname to change your name for this server. Click Change Avatar to set a new profile picture for this server. Click Change Banner to set a new banner for this server. Click Primary or Accent to change your profile theme for this server. Enter a new description into About me. Click Save Changes when you're finished.

Using Mobile

Open the Discord app on your Android, iPhone, or iPad. This looks like Discord's mascot, Wumpus, with a blue-purple background. Discord is available for iOS in the App Store and for Android in the Google Play Store. All Discord users will be able to change their profile banner color. However, you must have Discord Nitro to get access to more customization options.

Tap ☰ in the top-right corner. You can also swipe right to open the menu.

Tap your user icon. This will be in the bottom-right corner.

Tap Profiles. This will be underneath Account.

Tap the pencil icon in the top-right corner. The Profile Banner pop-up menu will open.

Tap Banner Color and select a new color. Use the color slider to adjust the shade and hue. You can also insert a hex code into the field. On Discord Nitro, you can select Change Banner. Select a new banner image from your photo gallery. Tap and drag to adjust the image if necessary. You can also rotate the image with the icons at the bottom.

Tap Select. You'll see the new color at the top of the page. On Discord Nitro, tap Choose.

Tap Save. This will be in the top-right corner. Your customizations will be applied.
